Fix Employment Insurance Now!

November 08, 2023

Too many of us already struggle to live paycheque to paycheque. But now with rising rents and skyrocketing food prices, losing our job could spell disaster.

That's why we are calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to honor his promise to fix Employment Insurance now.

Inaccessible EI rules means income support is out of reach for too many of us - especially for those in part-time and precarious work. Migrant workers have an especially hard time accessing EI. [1,2] And even when workers do get access, our EI benefits are too inadequate and provide too few weeks of income support.

Join us for a Canada-wide, online phone action:

We will come together on Zoom to discuss what's at stake. Then we'll all make phone calls to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; Workforce Development Minister Randy Boissonnault; Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland; and Labour Minister Seamus O'Regan; as well as our own MP.

After RSVPing, you'll receive a Zoom Link via e-mail.

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom on Wednesday!
